What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor daily animal health surveillance
- Ensure compliance with USDA, IACUC, and AAALAC policies and regulations
- Provide basic care, feeding, and husbandry for research animals
- Assist in implementing CM's Animal Health Surveillance Program
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School education or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in a veterinary surgery clinic and/or laboratory animal type setting
- Familiarity with current Federal Laws and regulations regarding animal care and use
- Ability to interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds
- Independent judgment in problem resolution and decision making with minimal supervision
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences
- Certification as AALAS Laboratory Animal Technician (RLAT)
- Experience with a variety of species in an AAALAC Accredited Animal Care and Use Program or USDA licensed facility
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Word, and Outlook
