What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Support and maintain mission-critical application systems for the Department of Veterans Affairs
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and test AWS-hosted, Linux-based applications and Oracle-backed systems
- Contribute to the evaluation and modernization of the Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS)
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure system reliability and availability
- Collaborate across teams to address application issues and implement solutions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of relevant experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and have resided in the U.S. for the last 3 consecutive years
- Ability to obtain a lower to moderate level security clearance
- 1+ years of experience with SQL and relational database systems, preferably Oracle
- Familiarity with application monitoring or observability tools such as Dynatrace
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems
- Foundational knowledge of software development and application lifecycles
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical issues to diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
