      Operating as part of multi-disciplinary teams, the Procurement and Supply Chain functions play a leading role in respect of establishing and maintaining routine and bespoke contracts of high value, demonstrable competitiveness whilst also identifying and managing risks, interfaces (internally and externally). In covering these elements you will help underpin the successful delivery of business strategies.

      Duties of an Apprentice Supplier Manager :

      • Attend and engage with training, including exams and 1-2-1 meetings with your tutors/assessors
      • Manage your time effectively to complete all coursework, assignments and exams required to achieve the apprenticeship
      • Reflect on your own practice and experiences and take any feedback onboard
      • Take responsibility for own development of skills and knowledge
      • Contribute to Procurement and relationship management internally and externally
      • Assist in developing innovative Procurement solutions in support of winning business
      • Assisting in the negotiation and subsequent management of Contracts
      • Assist in identifying and managing risk and opportunity
      • Administration of due diligence and supplier performance compliance
      • Support supplier meetings and management reviews
      • Assist in the generation of briefing materials for senior management
      • Contribute toward the drafting of various Contractual documents

      The Apprenticeship

      The procurement apprenticeship programme is intended to a offer a wide understanding of Procurement and Supply Chain within Marshall and the wider Aerospace industry. Assigned to specific programmes or business stream activities, you will support orders with suppliers, where you will be assigned activities to help you develop commercial acumen and complimentary business competencies.

      The start of the Procurement Apprenticeship Programme will be focussed around coordinating material and service requirements for strategic bids and customer contracts together with potential associated internal indirect procurements for the Company.

      In parallel to the main role you will also undertake a range of training modules designed to support your career development and progression, including but not limited to presentation skills, project management and other subjects intended to enhance your skills.

You will have ambitions, strong communication, planning and organisational abilities. You will have a good basic education demonstrating academic capability with a drive to learn and develop.

      Your apprenticeship will be delivered by one of our partner training providers under the supervision of the Marshall Skills Academy. As an Apprentice Supplier Manager working in our aerospace business you will be following the Level 4 Commercial Procurement and Supply Apprenticeship Standard. More information on this standard can be found on the institute for apprenticeships website. During this 24 month programme you will work towards achieving your apprenticeship and will gain a Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply and will set the foundation to follow a pathway towards professional registration with the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).

      You will work towards developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required through a range of workshop training, classroom sessions and on the job learning. Not only will you develop your technical skills you will also have the opportunity to develop the behaviours needed to set the foundation for your future career. You will be supported every step of the way by instructors, mentors, line managers and fellow apprentices.

      Entry requirements

      • You must have 5 GCSEs at Grade A*-C/4-9 (or equivalent) including Mathematics and English
      • In order to receive apprenticeship funding you must have the right to work in the UK and meet residency eligibility requirements
      • You must successfully pass all required medical and security checks if you are offered a place on the apprenticeship programme
