- Must possess the physical strength, endurance, and agility necessary to perform FIRST AID, CPR, AED, and other related lifesaving activities.
- Ability to enforce rules and regulation to assure the safety and welfare of participants
- Excellent customer service skills; ability to effectively interact with City staff, volunteers, and the public.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- One year of experience as a lifeguard and/or water safety instructor.
- Education equivalent to high school diploma or have a GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of submitting application.

- Lifeguarding Certificate
- Water Safety Instructor Certificate
AQUATIC MANAGER
HOURLY SALARY - $22.82 - $23.74
Approximately 18-20 hours per week. Flexible schedule: Between the hours of 7:00am - 10:00pm, each day of the week.

THE POSITION
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator or Program Supervisor, the Aquatic Manager will assist in the planning, organization, coordination and implementation of the aquatics programs. The incumbent will perform a variety of duties including but not limited to: supervise and instruct lifeguards and other pool employees on daily assignments; supervise and may conduct swimming and lifesaving classes; administer First Aid, CPR, and other lifesaving activities; schedule and administer training for all aquatic staff; assist with CPR training for the Recreation and Community Service Department; makes accurate reports on attendance and the activities of the swimming pool; ensures maintenance and upkeep of pool is complete; maintain program equipment, files, and records; may perform additional duties as required.
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a non-benefited, at-will part-time position with working hours to be assigned at the discretion of the Recreation & Community Services Department. Candidates must be able to work all assigned shifts, which may include mornings, afternoons, evening shifts, and/or occasional weekends. Employee shall work up to 20 hours per week, limited up to 960 hours per fiscal year.

Must possess the following current and valid American Red Cross certificates - all certificates must be attached to the employment application at time of filing:
Possess valid and appropriate Lifeguard Training Instructor certificate within one year of appointment, issued by a source acceptable to the City and must obtain renewals as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is involved in active public safety duties, which involve the safeguarding of individuals, public and property. Incumbents are required to meet the required moderate physical exertion associated with the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, squat, twist, stoop and climb, lift up to 50 pounds, and be able to travel to different sites and locations; some activities are performed outdoors. This is a non-benefited, part-time position and is at-will.
