What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Process designated claims accurately and in a timely manner
- Investigate denial sources, resolve and appeal denials, and contact payer representatives
- Collaborate with internal teams and care center staff when necessary
- Support revenue optimization efforts and ensure reimbursement aligns with payer contract agreements
- Perform denial analysis using the Trizetto platform
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma preferred
- 3+ years of medical claims experience in a physician medical billing office
- Orthopedic physician billing experience required
- Experience with athenaHealth's EMR required
- Must understand the drivers of revenue cycle optimal performance and be able to investigate and resolve complex claims
- Must understand Explanation of Benefit (EOB) statements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Must have a private, quiet work space with high-speed internet for remote work
- Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Multispecialty physician billing experience preferred
- Experience supporting payers in California preferred
- 0-2 years of experience in healthcare-related service
