Job Purpose:
To ensure Area objectives are met as the head of the Area’s so that customer requirements are met through effective logistics supply management. Develop and lead teams to ensure that the best results and objectives are always achieved.
Key Accountabilities:· Ensure adherence to the company’s rules and regulations as documented in the company’s disciplinary policy.
· Ensure that housekeeping is maintained in your work area.
· Ensure safe work practices as defined during induction and Health & Safety training and awareness campaigns.
· Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all operational requirements within the area of responsibility.
· Develop and implement a management system for your team within the organization and initiate appropriate interventions to secure compliance in terms of service delivery, quality, and innovation.
· Oversee your team and ensure implementation of the organization and customers’ goals.
· Ensure effective communication strategies within your team.
· Implement and maintain an effective cost management program.
· Compile and manage financial budgets for all operational areas.
· Ensure effective absentee control measures within operational areas
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and ensure effective application of occupational health and safety standards throughout the operational areas.
· Ensure timeous and accurate reporting of KPIs and ensure the departments remain within the required targets.
· Ensure the effective implementation of succession planning.
· Ensure effective implementation of projects and related activities within the applicable operational area.
· Maintain effective cost center control including forecasts and budgeting.
· Develop and maintain good relationships with the customer and its representatives.
· Develop and control applicable procedures in line with Quality requirements.
· Maintain and adhere to standard operation meeting agendas and frequencies.
· Assist in the interview and selection process for your department together with Human Resources.
· Equip and avail yourself as a disciplinary chairperson, to be utilized as required by Human Resources.
· Ensure accountability for all equipment and facilities located within your department.
· Develop employees within your department to achieve peak productivity and reach their full potential.
· Ensure Employees assigned to your responsibility are effectively trained to perform their daily work functions.
· Manage and control discipline within your department.
· Ensure effective manpower control withing your department.
· Maintain high levels of accuracy within your allocated department.
· Ensure required administrative functions are adhered to.
· Any other reasonable and executable task within your vocational ability assigned by Superior.
Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:
· Grade 12/Matric (English & Mathematics/Math Literacy)
· Tertiary Qualification may be advantageous
· Six years working experience of which a minimum of 5 years must be in a logistics environment in a supervisory capacity.
· Code B Driver’s license
· Proficient software skills (MS Word, MS Excel)
· Ability to analyze information, adapt and respond to change and cope with setbacks and pressure.
