Job Description:
A co-op term with Intel of Canada's Intel Foundry Services group is a challenging but rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in integrated circuit design and test, from chiplets to SoCs. As a member of our team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting custom silicon solutions.
From cloud computing to 5G connectivity and artificial intelligence, semiconductors are at the heart of everything that computes and processes data. Intel is one of a handful of companies in the world, and the only one in North America, to both design and manufacture SoCs at leading edge semiconductor processes. Intel's vision for Foundry Services is to be the second largest semiconductor foundry in the world, by the end of the decade, and the Vancouver ASIC team is an integral part of this vision. We develop value-add designs, utilizing the most advanced technologies available within Intel, to enable IFS customers to build the most cutting edge SoCs to succeed in their applications and markets.
Modern SoCs have grown exponentially more complex, integrating ever more functionality on to a single silicon die, and integrating multiple silicon dies into a package. ASIC verification methodologies must also continue to advance and keep pace with this growing complexity, to ensure a high quality and functional SoC design. The ASIC verification team develops object-oriented test environments and reference models, using both in-house developed techniques as well as industry-standard tools and methodologies, and simulates them against the actual ASIC design to uncover design bugsQualifications:
We are looking for enthusiastic students with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication, and desire to learn. Technically, a solid foundation of digital design (VHDL, Verilog) and object-oriented programming is desired but not required. Students who are looking for a challenging and rewarding work experience should not hesitate to apply.
