Job Description

- Candidates living within one hour of Scranton will be required to work on-site three days per week.
- Candidates living between one and two hours from Scranton will be required to work on-site one to two days per week
- Assist oversight daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable, billing and cash collection
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and systems teams to optimize processes and leverage ERP functionality (SAP)
- Assist in the the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, internal controls, and accounting best practices
- Support financial close, consolidation, and reporting processes
- Contribute to the development of financial reporting packages and dashboards
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within financial system
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to support compliance, tax filings (inclusive of personal property and sales/use tax), and audit requirements
- Maintain and enforce proper internal controls and accounting policies
- Partner with other departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency of financial data
- Assist with special projects, process improvements, and system implementations
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities in high-volume, multi-entity, or enterprise-level environments supporting multi-customers or large-scale operations in a corporate setting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS; proficiency within SAP and Excel
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage accounting personnel
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred

Position Summary:
The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and overseeing day-to-day accounting functions. This role plays a critical part in all tactical job duties including financial close processes, audits, compliance, and financial analysis. This role will directly manage 1 direct report and have indirect oversight of the Accounting, AR, and Billing departments.
Location: This is a hybrid role requiring regular on-site presence. Our selected candidate must reside within a two-hour commute of our Scranton, PA corporate office.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with availability afterhours for any emergencies that may happen or immediate situations that need to be addressed
Competitive Compensation: We offer a competitive salary of $170,000–$190,000, plus a yearly performance-based bonus, along with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, generous PTO, sick time, and company holidays. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and education.
