- Supervise and support the accounting team, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and payroll functions
- Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and procedures
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Assist with financial statement preparation and consolidation
- Support preparation of internal and external financial reports
- Support preparation and review of Form 990 and other regulatory filings
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Assist with audit preparation, including managing audit workpapers and coordinating with external auditors
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide variance analysis
- Help maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial processes
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a non-profit environment
- Prior experience overseeing accounting staff or teams
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
- Experience with financial statement consolidation and audit support
- Experience with ERP systems required; Oracle Fusion experience is a plus
- Proficiency with Excel and financial reporting tools
