- Apexus Certified Expert (340B ACE) required

Scope of Position
In cooperation with authorizing officials, senior hospital leaders, pharmacy leadership, and 340B analysts, provides oversight for all 340B programs within The Ohio State University spanning the Wexner Medical Center, The James Cancer Hospital, OSU Physicians, Inc., and the College of Nursing. Covered entities include the acute care hospitals and their associated child sites in addition to separately enrolled federal grantees including a Federally Qualified Health Center, a Ryan White HIV/AIDS clinic, and two Hemophilia Treatment Centers. This position is also responsible for the contract pharmacy programs associated with each entity, which currently includes over 400 contractual relationships. Collectively, this position is responsible for combined financial activity in excess of $300 million annually.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for developing and implementing policies; assists in the development of operational strategy; translates strategic plans into operational plans and guides their execution. The 340B program leader is directly accountable for all compliance aspects of the program, including federal HRSA and pharmaceutical manufacturer audits and good faith inquiries. Interacts frequently with managers and stakeholders concerning projects and operational decisions; Educates staff in various clinics outside the scope of the Department of Pharmacy on policies, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with program requirements.
Must possess strong planning skills and problem-solving skills. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with senior management team, physicians and federal and state governing bodies. Must also possess highly effective negotiating skills to communicate and interact with senior management team and physicians. This position is also responsible for supervising PharmD students, residents, 340B analysts, and providing educational programs for physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.

Conducts experiential and/or didactic teaching of pharmacy students (including interns), pharmacy residents, and permanent staff. Professional instruction to the hospital and clinical staff or other professional organizations. Participates in and presents intra-departmental continuing education programs in addition to professional presentations to local community groups, the College of Pharmacy, other hospitals and pharmacy departments, and professional meetings.
