- Assists in the management and implementation of the overall objectives for assigned functions in the Human Resource Department.
- Provides guidance on disciplinary actions and ensures that all processes adhere to legal and organizational standards. Communicates effectively with employees and management to identify problems and resolve conflicts, providing guidance to management on disciplinary actions, terminations, and employment laws and regulations, including ADA requirements, and participates in meetings pertaining to employee grievances and employee disciplinary actions, as appropriate.
- Facilitates and/or assists with conducting thorough investigations into employee complaints, including those related to ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and ADAAA (Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act) compliance.
- Gathers data pertaining to staffing, labor, and other HR trends within the organization, compares to meaningful benchmarks, assists Director in preparing reports in various and meaningful formats for committees, physicians, and internal executives, and, when appropriate, presents information to Administration, Committees or other governing boards. (Optimizes use of current HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
- Manages and advises on current and new job descriptions, including FLSA status, and collaborates with the Director of Compensation and Benefits on salary grading.
- Advises on employee engagement tactics to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Maintains and analyzes employee engagement and turnover data to identify trends and develop strategies for improvement.
- Assists with building and delivering content related to training and development programs as appropriate.
- Manages and oversees workers’ compensation claims and ensures proper handling and resolution in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Manages and oversees unemployment claims, ensuring accurate and timely processing in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Processes (by researching, recording, computerizing, calculating, proofreading, filing, disseminating, etc.) paperwork and documents related to HR as appropriate.
- Assists with tracking and reporting critical dates pertaining to HR issues, including renewal dates for employment agreements, performance evaluations that are due or past due, etc.
- Interfaces with and disseminates information to Summit physicians, management, and employees to provide customer service on behalf of the HR department.
Summit Medical Group is recruiting for an Assistant Director of Human Resources. This position plays a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of corporate HR functions to include employee engagement, employee relations and performance management, policy development and implementation, and HRIS administration. The Assistant HR Director contributes to strategic initiatives such as manager toolkits, special projects, and data-driven reporting, offering actionable insights to inform decision-making. The Assistant HR Director works closely with the HR team to ensure a consistent, high-quality employee experience across the organization.
Examples of Duties (List does not include all duties assigned)
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in Human Resources intensive position required with at least one-year of employee relations experience highly preferred.
Certification/License
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred; SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) highly preferred.
