      The purpose of this position is to assist in the management of overall operations of multiple senior centers and staff.

      • Serves as acting Director in the Director's absence.
      • Manages overall operations of multiple senior centers and staff therein.
      • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff of employees, volunteers, and interns; processing employee concerns, directing work, counseling, and disciplining.
      • Recruits and selects staff.
      • Provides payroll and time sheet approval, quotes, purchase requests, budgetary requirements and recommendations, and operations development.
      • Responds to emergencies, as needed.
      • Attends meetings to discuss work related issues, policy changes, community needs, public comments and concerns, safety, and emergency procedures, and makes recommendations regarding the same.
      • Generates reports and work orders.
      • Adheres and ensures adherence to safety procedures, enforces county and department rules and regulations; keeps staff informed of policy and rule changes, updates, and helps develop standard operating procedures.
      • Works with Operations Coordinator to obtain and maintain grants for reimbursement of services provided by the department.
      • Maintains strong and effective working relationships with grant providers, community partners, staff, volunteers, other departments, superiors, and government officials.
      • Performs other related duties as assigned.

      Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      • Knowledge of local government operations, Senior Services related programs, policies and plans, and modern office practices and procedures.
      • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other similar programs.
      • Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job.
      • Skill in effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
      • Ability to meet and deal with employees and the public in an effective and courteous manner.
      • Ability to get along with others and work effectively with the public and co-workers.
      • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening meetings.
      • Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines.
      • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters.
      • Ability to work with and process payments for accounts within the budget and department.
      • Ability to use computers for data entry, word processing, and accounting purposes.
      • Ability to operate a copying machine.
