What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist the Chief of the Traffic Engineering Design Division in supervision and management of traffic control design and ITS projects
- Oversee research and development of engineering standards in compliance with federal and state policies
- Guide, mentor, and supervise team leaders in technical and personal development
- Ensure designs adhere to current standards, guidelines, and policies
- Manage consultant engineers and non-licensed engineers involved in projects
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Possession of a Maryland Professional Engineer license
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience managing engineering projects as a licensed professional engineer
- One (1) year of experience managing traffic control device design and staff for engineering projects
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license in the state of Maryland
- Strong written and oral communication skills

- Experience managing project/program scope, budget, and schedule for multiple programs
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Excellent internal/external customer service abilities and interpersonal skills
- Expert knowledge of professional transportation engineering principles and regulations
