      Job Description

The Sciences and Mathematics Department at Texas A&M University-Central Texas (TAMUCT) seeks an applicant to expand the educational and training opportunities necessary to meet the growing needs of industry. In Central Texas and in the Military, drone or remote pilot positions have grown progressively and will continue to grow over the next five years. For this professional track Assistant Lecturer position, specific duties include teaching select courses, in-person, at 10-week intervals starting in Fall 2026. The position offers a unique opportunity to apply real world experience as a lecturer, full-time for 2 years (renewable).

The instructor will teach a variety of Continuing Education Unit (CEU) courses for the Remote Pilot programs, as determined by department needs and individual qualifications. The instructor will be expected to perform the duties regularly expected of an instructor of CEUs including, but not limited to, meeting with their courses as scheduled, face-to-face, supporting student success, holding regular meeting hours in accordance with College of Arts and Sciences policy, submitting syllabi and attendance verification on time, and other duties as assigned.

A Presidential Proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on all new H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025, and Texas A&M University-Central Texas will not pay this fee. Additionally, a moratorium issued by Governor Abbott on January 27, 2026, restricts the filing of new H-1B petitions unless approved by the Texas Workforce Commission. Accordingly, if you will now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status this moratorium may affect our ability to employ you should you be selected as the final candidate. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
