      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Evaluate projects for compliance with local policies, regulations, and California planning laws
      - Provide high-level service to clients, including professionals in architecture, engineering, and construction
      - Prepare and present studies, reports, and graphics to various stakeholders
      - Collaborate with other County divisions for coordinated planning services
      - Act as a liaison to advise or resolve differences with community groups and individuals

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Graduation from college with a major in planning, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, or a closely related field
      - Knowledge of principles, practices, and trends in urban and regional planning relevant to California
      - Ability to collect, tabulate, and evaluate data using computer software programs
      - Excellent writing and communication skills, including public speaking experience
      - Ability to manage multiple deadlines and provide exceptional customer service

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Professional planning experience in a public agency in California
      - Experience writing and implementing land use policies and programs
      - Familiarity with reviewing project applications for consistency with land use policies and zoning regulations
      - Experience making presentations before boards, planning commissions, and community groups
      - Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Outlook, and Teams
