What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Teach courses in Data Science with a focus on ethics, data visualization, artificial intelligence, and statistics
- Develop and implement engaging curricula that enhance student learning and success
- Provide mentorship and support to students in their academic and professional pursuits
- Participate in departmental service activities and contribute to the academic community
- Maintain effective communication with students and faculty to foster a positive learning environment
What is Required (Qualifications):
- A MA or MS in Computational Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
- Effective teaching skills and ability to engage students in the learning process
- Commitment to advancing academic excellence for diverse learners
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be available for occasional additional hours, including overnight and weekend work as needed
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- A Ph.D. in Computational Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field at the time the appointment begins or ABD status
- Prior teaching experience in higher education
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate past scholarly work into teaching practices
- Experience in mentoring students or academic advising
- Knowledge of current trends and technologies in Data Science
