What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Investigate new claims by reviewing reports of loss and gathering information from relevant parties
- Establish action plans based on case facts, best practices, and available resources
- Manage an inventory of property/casualty and disability claims, evaluating compensability and negotiating settlements
- Confirm or deny coverage based on investigation findings and advise policyholders accordingly
- Update files and provide comprehensive reports as required
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Effective interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation abilities
- Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely
- Demonstrated success in a professional or customer service/retail environment
- Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions; typically acquired through a bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Licensing may be required in some states
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of legal liability, insurance coverage, and medical terminology
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment
