- Work closely with the broader BD Search and Evaluation Team and BD Project Management to identify innovative opportunities, including assets and technologies, from pre-clinical through commercial stage that can impact Genmab’s product portfolio in oncology or immunology, aligned with our 2030 vision and our long-range planning goals.
- Identify transaction opportunities through internal and external networking, attendance at scientific meetings, and monitoring of industry activity including news flow and pipeline updates,
- Drive initial asset assessment and provide scientific advice and recommendations to proceed to a deeper triage by BD and R&D for any identified opportunity.
- Interact and coordinate with colleagues in BD&L, Corporate strategy & Development, and leaders across other functional areas to better assess asset probability of success, development scenarios, operational challenges, and potential impact on the P&L.
- Support the business case development and triage process by working with a cross-functional review team including discovery, translational research, precision medicine, clinical and commercial, to solicit input, understand new business opportunities and make preliminary recommendations and prioritization determinations.
- Build ongoing, informal, collaborative, and interactive relationships with companies at medical conferences and facilitate connections between internal and external scientific/clinical teams for ongoing asset evaluation.
- Communicate conclusions to internal and external parties and tactically arrange appropriate follow-up engagements.
- Monitor and track the current and emerging Oncology and Immunology and Inflammation competitive landscape in key areas of interest, consistent with Genmab priority.
- Establish mechanisms to track the maturation of assets and associated companies over time and monitor development of premature assets until identification of an ideal time to consider a potential engagement aligned with envisioned transaction framework.
- PhD in a Immunology, Biology or Molecular science with experience in a research-based role in Academia/Biotech/ Pharma, preferably with 5+ years industry experience
- Strong scientific background with deep knowledge of pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotechnology industry trends, ideally with experience in competitive intelligence
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of clinical development, preferably experience with antibody compounds.
- Excellent presentation skills that connect and resonate at the highest levels within a scientific corporate organization.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- The ability to anticipate potential pitfalls, and proactively solve problems.
- Strong team player and the ability to work effectively at all levels within an organization.

The role is Associate Director Search and Evaluation Business Development, within the Business Development (BD) function, reporting to the head of Search & Evaluation
The Associate Director plays a crucial role in identifying and assessing potential clinical stage assets for acquisition or partnership. This position requires a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors, along with expertise in evaluating clinical research, development opportunity, and strategic alignment.
The Associate Director will proactively search for and identify potential clinical stage assets through attending conferences, networking and staying abreast of industry trends and advancements. Identified assets will be thoroughly evaluated with focus on scientific assessment, clinical trial data analysis, regulatory landscape understanding and intellectual property considerations. Together with R&D, the associate director will assess the technical feasibility and fit of potential of clinical stage assets with existing product pipeline. In addition, this role will provide support in negotiations by supplying relevant data insights.

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$138,750.00---$231,250.00The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
