      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Verify insurance coverage and update changes in the billing system
      - Determine payer referral and authorization requirements for professional services
      - Initiate authorizations and submit clinical documentation as required by insurance companies
      - Communicate with surgical coordinators regarding authorization statuses or denials
      - Assist with special projects and collaborate with team members on complex cases

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High school graduate or GED certificate
      - Minimum of 1 year of experience in a physician's billing or third-party payer environment
      - Ability to understand managed care eligibility, insurance billing requirements, and pre-authorizations
      - Strong customer service orientation with effective verbal and written communication skills
      - Functional proficiency in computer software skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience with Epic or other electronic billing systems
      - Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnosis, and procedure coding
      - Previous experience in an academic healthcare setting
