      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Create hospital encounters for surgical services at ambulatory surgery centers and hospitals
      - Complete insurance verification and obtain prior authorization approvals from insurance companies
      - Collaborate with the Care Team to submit clinical documentation required for payer review
      - Maintain and update documentation related to changes in payer prior-authorization and pre-certification requirements
      - Attend continuing education classes and complete mandatory training to meet department requirements

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High school diploma or equivalent
      - Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and keyboarding
      - Strong customer service skills and effective written/verbal communication abilities
      - Knowledge of patient eligibility and hospital billing cycle
      - Ability to work cohesively with a diverse workforce and patient population

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Post high school degree or certification in a relevant field
      - 2 years of previous healthcare experience, including medical terminology and prior authorizations
      - Experience with healthcare registration and revenue cycle processes
      - Familiarity with EPIC registration or other electronic health records
      - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
