What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Investigate coverage and liability of claims through various means including telephone and personal contact
- Analyze information to evaluate claims and determine the extent of loss, considering contributory or comparative negligence
- Process incoming calls and correspondence regarding claims, interacting with underwriters and agents
- Evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims within delegated authority, handling files from start to finish
- Update claims system to accurately reflect status and initiate negligence percentage determinations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of three years of experience in Commercial and/or Personal Lines Auto claim handling
- Experience handling non-litigated auto property damage and bodily injury claims
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- College degree preferred
- Industry training/designations preferred
- Proven negotiation and claim disposition skills with a strong problem-solving ability
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Moderate proficiency with standard business-related software
