Job summary
We are looking to recruit a passionate mental health nurse that is enthusiastic about leading one of our forensic wards. This will provide a fantastic developmental opportunity. You will need to provide leadership and mentoring, and will act as a positive role model for junior staff in a manner that positively reflects the values of the organisation. You will be responsible for managing, directing and leading the nursing team with inclusivity, compassion and commitment.
Service users and their families will engage with you on a daily basis and expect to be treated with respect and dignity by your staff. We believe in a Trauma Informed approach to care delivery using positive behavioural support models (PBS) which focus on positive changes and the SCALE model of care.
Main duties of the job
Reaside Clinic is a male medium secure unit and provides a range of services to support patients in their recovery including ICU, acute and rehabilitation and we want to hire an experienced nurse who has a real understanding of the needs of this group of patients who can bring innovation and change to our services. We see this service as a genuine specialism and are proud of the multi-disciplinary approach to care delivery, and are offering you the opportunity to be part of it.
You must be a qualified RMN with experience of leadership. It's important that you have an understanding of multidisciplinary services and the challenges that face people with mental health problems. We want to hire staff that are passionate about mental health, who believe in our recovery model and who will act as advocates for the reduction of stigma and inequalities faced by our service users. You must have an excellent understanding of safeguarding and how to work within professional boundaries.
