      The Beef Feedlot Manager is responsible for overseeing the Steer-A-Year program and for coordinating and collaborating with Animal, Veterinary and Food Sciences faculty and staff to train students in feedlot management, cattle feeding, feedlot animal health and good animal husbandry, and building and strengthening relationships with the cattle industry to help provide students with educational and experiential learning opportunities. As manager of the beef feedlot, the individual will collaborate with college personnel to further the development and enhancement of Steer-A-Year facilities. As assistant manager of the beef unit, the individual will assist the beef unit manager with the Charolais herd. The assistant manager will occasionally be asked to provide management relief at the UI Beef Units and assist with other beef related Palouse Research, Extension and Education Center activities.
