What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Architect and develop advanced Nextflow pipelines for NGS data processing and analysis
- Deploy and optimize pipelines on AWS EKS and Batch
- Build and maintain Docker-based container environments for reproducible bioinformatics workflows
- Develop Python tooling for workflow automation, monitoring, and data integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance workflow reliability and performance
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 5+ years of experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or workflow engineering
- Expert-level proficiency in Nextflow, including DSL2 and workflow optimization
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including EC2, S3, and EKS
- Proficient in Docker, including custom image creation and multi-stage builds
- Solid understanding of NGS data formats and common bioinformatics tools
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Java/Groovy and building APIs
- Familiarity with Nextflow Tower or similar workflow management platforms
- Experience configuring Kubernetes workloads for genomics pipelines
- Background in synthetic biology or high-throughput genomic library analysis
- Experience collaborating with wet labs on sequencing pipeline requirements
