What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead and execute complex analyses of microbial genomic and epidemiologic datasets
- Develop and refine analytical pipelines for studying antimicrobial resistance and microbiome interactions
- Integrate microbiome-immune analysis with molecular epidemiology frameworks
- Build risk models and surveillance tools using bioinformatics and data science techniques
- Collaborate with principal investigators and external partners on data curation and analysis
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated experience analyzing genomics and/or multi-omics datasets
- Proficiency in R and/or Python, with knowledge of Bash or similar scripting environments
- Strong understanding of microbial genomics and ecology, including host interactions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative field with 5 or more years of experience, or PhD with demonstrated research productivity
- Experience in high-performance computing (HPC) environments and version control systems (e.g., GitHub)
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications, including first-author contributions
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment
- Familiarity with machine learning applications in bioinformatics
