What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Prepare monthly budget status reports that provide analysis and projections of program spending
- Serve as an expert in monitoring and updating the internal agency budget system
- Coordinate with the Cost Allocation Section to ensure grant health for assigned programs
- Develop accurate annual spending plans and monitor expenditures for fiscal sustainability
- Review and analyze legislation to prepare Fiscal Notes during the Legislative session
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Equivalent education/experience totaling nine (9) years in budgets, management, or program analysis
- A Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, accounting, economics, or a related field, with five (5) years of professional experience in budgets, management, or program analysis
- The ability to take action to learn and grow
- The ability to take action to meet the needs of others
- A Master's degree may substitute for some experience
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- A Master's degree in business, public administration, accounting, economics, or a related field
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing budgets and coordinating fiscal projects
- Demonstrated ability to provide ongoing monitoring and analysis of program spending, including grants and contracts
- Experience in the development and design of program and/or agency spending plans
