      Academic Requirements: Required - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree or CPA preferred.

      Experience Requirements: Required -Minimum three years of experience in budgeting, cost estimation, or financial analysis, preferably in nonprofit or public sector contracting and grant development. Experience with federal and state grant and contract proposal development is strongly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and budgeting software, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to interpret and apply grant and contract funding requirements across multiple affiliate organizations.

      Summary: The Budget Analyst supports affiliate nonprofit organizations by developing, reviewing, and refining budgets for public and private funding proposals. This position acts as a cost estimator, working closely with program and development staff to ensure proposed budgets are accurate, defensible, and aligned with funder requirements. The role ensures consistency in financial narratives and helps affiliates present compelling, cost-effective proposals in highly competitive environments.

      Critical Action Items:
      Proposal Budget Development & Cost Estimation
      1. Develop detailed budget templates and pricing models for new grant and contract proposals and renewals
      2. Review and revise affiliate-provided budget inputs to ensure alignment with solicitation requirements and cost principles
      3. Analyze cost data and labor trends to provide realistic and competitive pricing
      4. Ensure budget narratives clearly support the proposed costs and programmatic strategies
      5. Partner with Strategy and Business Development team to ensure fiscal integrity and competitiveness of submitted budgets
      Technical Assistance & Affiliate Support
      6. Provide training and technical assistance to affiliate staff on proposal budgeting best practices for grants and contracts
      7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cost estimation workflows and budget planning capacity
      8. Identify areas of cost risk or compliance concern early in the budget development process
      Market & Financial Analysis
      9. Monitor federal, state, and philanthropic trends in cost structure and rate-setting for both grant-funded and contract opportunities
      10. Assist in evaluating pricing strategies for new lines of service or expansion areas
      11. Conduct retrospective budget performance reviews to inform future pricing strategies for grant and contract submissions

      Measurable Deliverables:
      1. Deliver accurate, compliant, and funder-aligned budgets for at least 90% of assigned proposals
      2. Conduct at least two financial training or support sessions per quarter for affiliate teams
      3. Maintain a centralized repository of standard budget tools, templates, and pricing assumptions
      4. Identify and document pricing trends in at least three major funding streams annually

      Credentials, Skills and Abilities:
      1. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
      2. Knowledge of Uniform Guidance, cost principles, and funder-specific requirements
      3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to translate complex financial data
      4. Ability to work on multiple proposals simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
      5. Familiarity with nonprofit finance and public-sector pricing strategies
      6. Valid state driver's license and the ability to pass a clear criminal background check
