      The Role:

      An opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to assist the Sales Team responsible for the Belux region. The job will be based in Belgium (home office). We are in search of a proactive, driven and commercially minded individual who has experience in Retail, Personal or Private Banking and would like to gain work experience with the perspective of developing a career in the asset management industry.

      Key Responsibilities for this role:

      • Part of the sales team in Belgium and taking an ‘active approach’ towards clients in the region. Helping out on client requests on various mutual funds distributed in the Belux market.
      • Being an active BDM reaching out to existing and new clients to organize meetings. A person with a can-do attitude capable of organizing their own time and not afraid to pick up the phone.
      • Manage regular schedule of updates to clients on the core funds, from bespoke pieces through to standardised monthly updates
      • In charge of the client relationship management database for the region
      • Develop marketing tools for the retail market
      • Involvement in the organisation and planning of client events (one to one meetings, seminars etc) and help prepare pre-meeting data and presentations
      • Maintenance of CRM system (Salesforce)
      • Interactions with other departments within M&G including Marketing, Events, Compliance and Operations.
      • Assist in the completion of detailed fund questionnaires and on boarding of platforms and associated operational aspects.
      • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G’s operational risk.

      Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

      • Finance Degree from either a Business School or University (Bachelor or Master)
      • Fluency in English and Dutch is mandatory, French is strongly appreciated
      • Self-motivated to learn about the Asset Management industry.
      • Good organisational skills and able to demonstrate examples of being proactive
      • Proven team player
      • Good numerical skills
      • Good communication skills at all levels
      • Willingness to travel (mainly to Paris and London)
      • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft office pack (especially power point and excel)
