      We are looking for a Business Lead to deliver the local strategy to support the exploration activities in the country.       Working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will:

      • Advise management on both strategic and tactical levels to address opportunities and challenges in the country
      • Cultivate positive relationships with authorities, key stakeholders and third parties to support the engagement strategy
      • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to support informed decision making
      • Engage and collaborate with the local staff and JV partners to undertake exploration programs in alignment with the standards and expectations of the Rio Tinto Group
      • Ensure that all operations are compliant with regulatory requirements and Rio Tinto standards
      • Ensure compliance with the existing laws and keep alignment with the existing legislation
      • Drives business improvements and collaborate with the identification of new growth opportunities
      • Engage with contractors and providers to ensure quality support to exploration programs and activities
      • Coordinate the efficient and timely response to observations made by authorities and regulatory entities
      • Strong adherence to the Ethics and Integrity principles and Business Integrity policies
      • Monitor overall performance and develop budget plans and financial forecasts
      • Administrate facilities and assets to optimize their operation and maintenance
      • Support RTX in other jurisdictions in South America on the same responsibilities

      What you’ll bring

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Law, Finance or a related career. Master in Business Administration qualification will be regarded.
      • At least 10 years in mining and/or exploration and/or related industry. Candidates requires a strong understanding of how a business operates in country
      • Project Management experience and training will be advantageous
      • Proven experience and knowledge in business-related topics such as applicable regulation, taxation, banking, contracts, mobility, among others.
      • Excellent communication and writing skills with local and external stakeholders.
      • Team player mindset with experience in multi-disciplinary groups and exposition to different stakeholders
      • Fluent in English and Spanish to interact and report within the professional network of Rio Tinto in the Region
      • Adherence to Rio Tinto standards and policies
      • Valid driving license held for minimum 1 year

      Where you will be working

      This role is based in Medellin and expected to support the exploration projects in the country, and eventually in other jurisdictions in South America, providing expertise on tenure management, land access, and environmental best practices. In this role, you will report to the Exploration Manager in Colombia.
