What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide expertise in arms control and nonproliferation topics such as international legal studies, defense management, and cybersecurity
- Draft laws and regulations governing the control of trade and transfer of dual-use goods and technologies
- Deliver training and technical consultations to national governments on nonproliferation issues
- Develop internal compliance programs and resources for private industry
- Present research and findings at regional and international export control conferences
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Baccalaureate or higher-level degree from an accredited college or university in Political Science, International Affairs, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Management, Criminal Justice, or Law
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in global trade control management and compliance
- Knowledge of international strategic trade control norms, best practices, and proliferation trends
- Experience in drafting laws and regulations related to dual-use goods and technologies
- Familiarity with the USG Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) compliance program
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Proven experience providing training and technical consultations to national governments on nonproliferation issues
- Evidence of research and publications on trade controls-related topics
- Experience as a speaker and presenter at relevant conferences
