      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Abstract specific patient information from various resources, including medical records, and code information into a database
      - Maintain and edit data for accuracy and completeness according to prescribed protocols
      - Manage record-keeping systems and procedures for clinical studies
      - Collaborate with the Supervisor of Cancer Registry to ensure compliance with standards
      - Observe Standard (Universal) Precautions and safe handling practices while working with potentially hazardous materials

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
      - Completion of Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology courses required
      - Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification or eligibility required
      - ODS certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire or transfer into the position
      - Ability to work past normal duty hours if needed

      - Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in oncology data management
      - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
      - Familiarity with clinical study procedures and protocols
