Responsible for winning Equity Advisory mandates (JVs, Recapitalisations, M&A, Funds Placement)
Lead Deal Team at project level for Japan Equity Advisory mandates
Managing and building client relationships within Japan Capital Markets with a clear focus on relevant stakeholders for Equity Advisory type of mandates
Use relationships and sector insights to generate other income opportunities through cross selling
Partner with sector research and strategy leads to provide sector direction for appropriate market leading outputs/analysis relevant to Equity Advisory
Monitor and analyse public real estate companies in Japan (REIT / others) to generate ideas
Recognise trend and changing market conditions to enable our clients to adapt their strategies to changing environments and capitalise on opportunity
Contribute to JLL thought leadership, presenting to clients, industry forums and events in Japan
Create a platform for growth by improving talent we have and scanning the market for new talent to hire
Coaching and mentoring to Associates and Analysts, upskilling through on the job training to grow through our next generation talent
Lead by example to share intelligence and enhance One JLL mindset
Our Equity Advisory team provides real estate strategic advisory services to corporate and institutional clients throughout Asia Pacific including fund raising, equity advisory and M&A.
Sitting within the wider Capital Markets team at JLL, the Equity Advisory team focuses on advising clients on: Fund Raising, M&A transactions, Recapitalisations, JVs, and Strategic Reviews.
This is a vital Director-level role building and running a colleagiate, networked and productive Equity Advisory practice in Japan as part of a wider Japan Capital Markets team. The role focuses on idea generation, business generation (mandate origination) and client engagement. The role requires close collaboration with the APAC Equity Advisory team to provide seamless client advice.

Being a self-starter
You can work independently and take ownership of being the central point of Japan Equity Advisory service.

You’ll be working with various people across the business including the Japan Capital Markets team, the APAC Equity Advisory team, The Capital Markets RFP Team, the International Capital Coverage team to maximize business opportunities and implement best practices.

Knowing the industry participants
You have a good network in Japan across Real Estate Private Fund Managers (GP’s), a good understanding of the passive investor capital (LP’s), Developers, Operators and a good understanding of the Public Real Estate Markets and its relevant stakeholders. Also, a good network with Trust Banks, gatekeepers, asset managers and financial institutions in Japan.
Investor/Investment Experience
You have a good track record and background in the Japanese real estate industry, having executed Equity Advisory type of mandates and know how to navigate complex situations.
Key Influencer & Collaborator
As a collaboration champion, you will need to be very well received internally, too. Your influencing skills will have helped you navigate and succeed in similar large matrix organisations. You thrive on bringing teams together to build bespoke and customised solutions for our clients.

You’ll be a high energy individual who feels invigorated by a fast paced and dynamic environment where the onus is on opportunity. This will be supported by a proven track record of sourcing opportunities, securing mandates and successfully executing transactions.
