What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Post line item payments and adjustments to patient accounts within 24 hours of receipt
- Sort lock box receipts and post accordingly to patient accounts
- Analyze credit accounts to determine if refunds should be processed
- Balance receipts, reconcile daily work batches, and prepare audit trails
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patient account status and financial affairs
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in a medical business office setting with insurance processing and balancing responsibilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate positive interpersonal relations
- Proficiency in handling and lifting items up to 40 lbs
- Capability to perform essential functions while adhering to physical demands of the role
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working in an oncology or hematology clinic environment
- Familiarity with healthcare billing and coding practices
- Strong analytical skills for processing and reconciling financial transactions
- Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse teams and patients
