Job Description
- Req#: 4201188
- Post all incoming payments accurately and timely from multiple sources, including electronic remittance advice (ERA/EFT), checks, cash, credit card payments, and patient payments.
- Reconcile daily deposits against bank activity, remittance reports, and practice management/billing system records.
- Assist in month-end closing by ensuring all appropriate information is posted to patient accounts within company guidelines.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied balances, missing payments, and posting variances.
- Post insurance recoupments, take-backs, denials, and adjustments accurately according to payer guidelines and company procedures.
- Cross-train and fill-in other areas within the Billing Department as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum 1-2 years of medical payment posting, medical billing, or healthcare revenue cycle experience preferred.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to reconcile payments accurately and identify discrepancies.
- The ability to use discretion in handling confidential information
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
