      About the team

      eBay's High Potential (HiPo) Emerging Markets team encompasses a vast region of over 170 countries, driving cross-border trade with a focus on international exports and imports. Spearheaded by a dynamic team based in global hubs like Lithuania, Bulgaria, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, Singapore, Hong Kong, Israel, the Czech Republic, India, and Mexico, we're charting the future of global trade.

      Objective

      eBay is looking for dynamic, seller focused, data driven, result oriented, people and business leader to grow one of the key growth categories. The Category Manager has end-to-end GMV responsibility and autonomy for one of the key categories for eBay in HiPo emerging markets, India and SEA. You will be responsible for defining long-term strategic plans, driving execution and building a high-performance team.

      The ideal candidate ought to be passionate and obsessed about delivering enhanced, extraordinary experience for customers in their category.

      The Opportunity

      We are seeking an experienced and data-driven Category Manager – Fashion to drive strategic growth and innovation for eBay's Clothing, Shoes & Accessories category. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fashion, including luxury, with deep expertise in category management and a proven track record of working within the European market for at least 5 years. This role requires a combination of analytical prowess, seller-centric innovation, and strategic leadership to optimize category performance and drive sustainable growth.

      Based in Prague (Czech Republic), the scope is entire HiPo region (all emerging markets) India and SEA.

      What you will accomplish

      • Bring category and market expertise to identify and exploit opportunities, and help set the strategy and vision for the category.

      • Focus on understanding needs, solving for problem areas, behaviours and preferences of customers (including buyers and sellers) in the Fashion categories.

      • Seller Support – lead and develop strong relationships with strategic sellers, brands and retailers within the portfolio necessary to source inventory through setting seller success plans to support account growth as well as recruit new sellers to the platform.

      • Continuously improve the value eBay provides to its seller base.

      • Work diverse initiatives ranging from defining the acquisition plan, driving adoption of seller services, catalog quality improvement, seller performance management, and more.

      • Monitoring and reporting on the performance and growth of their categories on a weekly and monthly basis with the team.

      • Owning category targets including GMV, Seller Count, new seller onboarding, live listings, etc.

      • Review growth plans, progress and any changes in strategic direction with senior leadership at a regular interval.

      What you will bring

      • Post-Graduation required.

      • 10+ years of total experience in category management, merchandising, or business development within the fashion industry (including luxury).

      • Minimum 5 years of experience in the European market, understanding local trends, seller dynamics, and consumer behaviors.

      • Strong analytical skills with a data-oriented approach to decision-making and performance optimization.

      • Proven ability to identify growth opportunities, create strategic roadmaps, and drive execution.

      • Experience in working with top sellers and key marketplace partners, ensuring sustainable business success.

      • Proficiency in MS Office suite - Excel and PowerPoint.
