- You develop, implement and follow up on sourcing strategies for the assigned portfolio in line with company strategies, business plans and policies. You align such strategies with all relevant stakeholders and obtain approval from Senior Procurement Management and Sourcing Council.
- You are responsible for competitive bidding, contract negotiations and establishment of supply contracts (or Frame Agreements) for the assigned portfolio.
- You are accountable for the supplier performance review and feedback process and development of supplier development programs.
- You ensure a companywide perspective in order to obtain the optimum result for Borealis as “one company” by capturing multi-site synergies.
- You introduce innovative thinking and ideas related to the assigned portfolio and sourcing processes.
- You assure in-depth knowledge of global markets by using all available (re-)sources, and (market intelligence, benchmarking) tools.
- You assure update and maintenance of files, databases and systems for the portfolio.

To support our Procurement Unit, we are currently looking for a driven and results-oriented Category Manager (m/f/d). The position is in the Routine Maintenance and Analytics team. In this role, you ensure that we have the best suppliers in place to support our operations, delivering high-quality products and services, and achieving optimal value for our organization.As a Category Manager you will ensure the global sourcing of portfolio on behalf of Borealis Group. You will capture and implement new best practices on the market in terms of total cost performance, improvement and supply security. You will develop, implement and follow up on sourcing strategies for the assigned portfolio in line with company strategies, business plans and policies. Align such strategies with all relevant stakeholders, and approval form (such as senior procurement management, procurement strategy board, procurement excellence committee, group steering committees).

About you
Are you up for the challenge of driving results and making your mark as Category Manager?
You are the right candidate for this role if you have a Master's degree in Economics, Business, Engineering or Chemistry, or equivalent by experience. We would expect a minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, including practical knowledge in category management with solid technical and commercial understanding. Knowledge of SAP is a great added value. In addition, you are fluent in English at business level.
Apart from your knowledge and background, you are a highly motivated individual, who thrives in a dynamic environment. We value teamwork so we like to hear about your fresh ideas and perspective. Your excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders will be essential in ensuring we meet our business objectives. Furthermore, you are a master of negotiation and supplier management, with strong analytical and project management skills. Last but not least, you demonstrate high ethical standards.
