      Position Overview

      The Division of Family & Community Services is seeking to hire a dynamic, organized, detail-oriented manager to oversee the Central Scanning Unit. The manager organizes, plans, executes, controls, and evaluates the operations of the unit. The Unit manager directs the maintenance of equipment, ensures production and testing priorities are processed timely, assigns personnel to meet production and testing goals and objectives, confers with system programmers on system problems, monitors statewide scanning operations, and advises management on problem areas. The Division’s mission is to assist Illinois residents by connecting them with public assistance programs and services. Through our programs, services and prevention efforts, the Division improves the health and well-being of individuals and promotes self-sufficiency and integrity of families of Illinois.

      Job Responsibilities

      1. Serves as Central Scanning Manager for the Division of Family and Community Services.

      2. Serves as full line supervisor.

      3. Directs the maintenance of equipment, including printers, optical scanners and processing equipment.

      4. Develops a master schedule to ensure production, testing and disaster recovery priorities are processed within established time frames.

      5. Develops organizational changes and personnel assignments to meet future production goals and objectives.

      6. Confers with systems programmers on system problems.

      7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

      Minimum Qualifications

      1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college.

      2. Requires three (3) years progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or private organization.

      Preferred Qualifications (in priority order)

      1. Three (3) years of professional experience working with electronic data entry verification systems, and document scanning systems.

      2. Three (3) years of professional experience developing and providing scanning system training and support assistance to staff.

      3. Three (3) years of professional experience with a public assistance eligibility system such as Integrated Eligibility System (IES).

      4. Three (3) years of professional experience performing quality control assessments and monitoring activities for a public or private business organization.

      5. Two (2) years professional experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail and the ability to utilize critical thinking skills while multi-tasking multiple projects.

      6. Two (2) years of professional experience evaluating computer systems and scanning system performance.

      Conditions of Employment

      1. Requires the ability to work overtime and/or outside of regular business hours.

      2. Requires ability to travel.
