What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Dispense medication safely and timely under the supervision of the Charge Nurse
- Administer ordered snacks and monitor vital signs as directed
- Observe residents for potential needs for PRN medication and report findings
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked medication cart, ensuring adherence to safety policies
- Document medication administration in accordance with employer policies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- State of Kansas Nurse's Aide Certification and Medication Aide Certification
- Knowledge of the five rights of medication administration and possible medication interactions
- Ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and document according to employer policy
- Skills in observing changes in resident conditions and communicating effectively with the Charge Nurse
- Ability to follow safety procedures and infection control practices
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly with medication administration
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with staff, residents, and families
- Familiarity with employer policies on abuse prevention and resident rights
