What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist in the evaluation of patients' functional status and home environment as directed by the registered occupational therapist
- Teach new skills or retrain patients in daily activities lost due to illness or injury
- Maintain clinical records and communicate changes in patients' conditions to the registered occupational therapist
- Follow treatment programs and document patients' responses to treatment plans
- Attend and contribute to meetings and case conferences for coordinated patient care
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant curriculum accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Certified with the National Certification Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Licensed as an occupational therapy assistant by the California Board of Occupational Therapy
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience as a certified occupational therapy assistant
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License with an insured vehicle in good working order
