What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Responsible for revenue capture and auditing of clinical services within revenue-producing departments
- Serve as a communication link between staff, physicians, and revenue cycle specialists regarding patient charges and auditing
- Review and audit patient billing entries and make adjustments as necessary
- Maintain and revise the unit's charge master for accurate coding and pricing
- Conduct charge reconciliation to ensure optimal charge capture
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 2 years of healthcare or healthcare-related financial experience
- Current working knowledge of medical procedures and patient care items
- Familiarity with drug administration procedures and patient care billing for hospital or physician services
- Strong understanding of accounting and coding in a healthcare context
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders within the organization
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) by AHIMA
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) by AAPC
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) by AHIMA
- Additional experience in revenue management or charge capture processes in a healthcare setting
