What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze and coordinate electronic data files with hospital departments to ensure accurate billing of missed charges
- Assist in the maintenance of the charge master file and perform daily validations
- Audit revenue reports for charge accuracy and coordinate charge corrections with hospital departments
- Review and maintain departmental charge capture procedures, ensuring compliance
- Compile reports and submit findings to department managers for corrective action
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a hospital setting with knowledge of Medicare billing
- Experience interpreting government regulations relevant to healthcare billing
- If holding an Associate's degree, seven (7) years of relevant experience is required
- If holding a High School diploma or GED, eleven (11) years of relevant experience is required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with charge master maintenance and auditing processes in a healthcare environment
- Proficiency in Excel for data management and reporting
- Strong analytical skills to assess and improve charge capture procedures
- Experience working with electronic health record systems
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulatory standards
