Job Description

- To formulate, generate scientific / technical data under supervision, using established systems, procedures, and protocols.
- May have responsibility for providing other individuals with instructions and guidance to complete tasks, which have been assigned.
- Identifies practical problems and works with the supervisor/ Senior formulation chemist to solve them.
- To carry out the timely preparation of formulations at all scales to provide samples for testing within Formulation Development or at external functions as defined by supervisor.
- To carry out physico-chemical characterisation testing, quantitative chemical analyses together with packaging and application tests, to defined standards (e.g., GLP or similar) in order to prove their suitability at Syngenta Products and to satisfy Product Chemistry data requirements and supporting work for Regulatory Authorities worldwide.
- To interpret experimental data and report results and conclusions obtained both orally and written form to allow cogent and timely Stage C project decisions.
- To ensure that the jobholder works safely and healthy with due care for others, so that compliance with Syngenta’s HSE Policy is achieved.
- To invest in personal and professional development and growth, undertaking, where appropriate, training and development activities and ensuring familiarity with new research and literature.
- Ensure that Laboratories resources and Equipments used are well maintained, protected, and documented as per the function requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining complete confidentiality of all Syngenta intellectual property.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
- Master’s degree in Pesticides/Agrochemicals chemistry must/preferable from reputed universities with strong academic records and excellent communication skills with minimum 2 years of industrial experience as a pesticide/agrochemical formulation development chemist is preferred.
- Good experimental skills in the areas of formulation development and Phy-chem testing and handling of equipment’s used in pesticide/agrochemical formulations.
- Sound understanding of agrochemical formulations / Coformulation's / Fillers
- IT literate relevant to work,

- This role will be a predominantly lab-based job associated with the preparation and testing of potential development formulations at a range of different scales of operation.
- The job holder will be expected to become familiar with a range of standard preparation processes and both physical and chemical characterization techniques.
- This will require an ability to learn quickly and to work safely, efficiently, and accurately, maintaining high quality standards.
