What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Architect and lead the development of a compliant health quality reporting (HQR) system for CMS's national quality programs
- Guide engineering teams in building resilient FHIR API architectures that comply with federal standards
- Ensure high availability and implement disaster recovery strategies to maintain system uptime
- Drive the adoption of automated testing, continuous integration, and security-first DevOps practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align systems with compliance goals while minimizing developer burden
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 8 years of experience leading architectural design and implementation of enterprise-scale systems, preferably in the federal healthcare domain
- Proven success in delivering API-based systems (FHIR-based preferred)
- Strong programming proficiency in modern languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C++
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for building cloud-based solutions
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks, including security and federal IT standards
