      The Civil Site Development Engineer is responsible for delivering comprehensive design engineering and analysis for site development projects. This position requires familiarity with a wide range of engineering concepts, standards, and methodologies. The engineer may serve as a technical specialist or broaden expertise across other disciplines and functional areas. Responsibilities include providing technical guidance on projects of low to moderate complexity, as well as developing, validating, and presenting technical deliverables to ensure successful project outcomes.

      Duties and Responsibilities

      Project Management & Execution

      • Manages engineering aspects of project schedules and budget performance, ensuring quality engineering solutions and deliverables.
      • Oversees design and execution of civil site projects, including permitting, specifications, procurement, and construction to meet requirements.
      • Makes key engineering execution decisions within the bounds of applicable policies, standards, guides, and contract commitments.
      • Adapts schedules as needed to maintain compliance with company standards and project objectives.

      Coordination & Communication

      • Coordinates all technical aspects of site development projects, ensuring seamless integration across disciplines.
      • Leads meetings and site visits with clients and coordinates with teams and consultants to deliver project goals.

      Permitting & Regulatory Compliance

      • Secures site plan approval through permitting processes and reviews zoning requirements.
      • Assists with securing permits from all relevant authorities to ensure regulatory compliance.

      Data Management & Quality Assurance

      • Oversees and participates in the collection, assimilation, and management of data for site development engineering work.
      • Reviews and incorporates client-specific design standards into projects.
      • Prepares estimates and reviews Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and shop drawings to maintain quality control.

      Business Development & Proposals

      • Supports business development activities, including preparing proposals, responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and contributing to sales efforts as directed.

      Qualifications

      Education:

      • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent ABET-accredited degree.

      Licensure:

      • Professional Engineering (PE) License or path to PE preferred

      Experience:

      • Minimum of 4 years as a civil engineer.
      • Background in civil land development within commercial, industrial, governmental, or aviation sectors.
      • Construction experience preferred.

      Technical Skills:

      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
      • Skilled in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
      • Expertise in Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads.
