What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist with stocking, donation processing, and member support at the Bread for Life Food Co-op
- Ensure the Co-op is prepared for shopping days and help members during their shopping experience
- Store and organize new donations and current stock properly
- Support food donation pickups and help unload and sort donations
- Communicate effectively with team members and represent the employer positively
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Illinois driver's license with the ability to operate a company vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds from service vehicles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Outlook
- Willingness to learn and follow food safety guidelines
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior experience working in a food pantry, warehouse, grocery, or similar environment
- Food handler certification
- Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds
