What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform coding and related duties using established billing office policies
- Verify CPT and ICD-10 CM coding and modifiers based on documentation
- Act as a liaison with managers and billing personnel to ensure accurate charge flow
- Identify and resolve coding and reimbursement issues to reduce denials
- Maintain understanding of provider documentation policies and participate in orientations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in coding or billing
- Required certification: Coding certification (CPC, CCS-P) and/or Health Information Management credential (RHIT, RHIA)
- Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 CM coding
- Detail-oriented with the ability to establish effective working relationships

- Experience with medical insurance guidelines and governmental policies
- Progressive computer skills
- Ability to meet or exceed established production rates and performance standards
