What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and evaluate medical record documentation and coding to ensure accurate reimbursement
- Assign and sequence appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes based on medical information
- Provide technical guidance to medical staff in resolving coding-related issues
- Audit clinical documentation to validate services rendered for reimbursement
- Research and analyze discrepancies to prevent future coding errors
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Finance preferred
- Certified Professional Coder from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred
- 0-1 year of medical coding experience preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT®, HCPCS, and modifiers for coding of professional fee services
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational abilities

- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare regulations
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
