      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Review inpatient medical records to assign appropriate codes following ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines
      - Collaborate with physicians to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding
      - Perform coding validation and utilize computer-assisted coding tools for accuracy
      - Maintain productivity and quality standards while coding in-house patients
      - Act as a resource for physicians and staff on coding principles and reimbursement issues

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Associate degree required; health information technology preferred, with RHIT or RHIA certification
      - AHIMA CCS Certified Coding Specialist credential or AAPC CIC certification
      - Three to five years of inpatient coding experience in a teaching or acute care hospital
      - Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
      - Strong writing skills for preparing compliant physician queries

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience with rehabilitation coding processes
      - Familiarity with clinical documentation improvement practices
      - Knowledge of current coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements
      - Ability to assist and mentor entry-level coders
