What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review provider documentation in medical records to ensure proper coding
- Perform medical chart reviews to identify supporting documentation for HCC codes
- Engage in future training to code and submit encounters for claims submission
- Manage other duties as assigned in relation to coding and documentation
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information while working independently
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience
- Coding certification required (AAPC CPC, CRC, or AHIMA CCSP)
- Proficiency in ICD-10-HCC coding guidelines
- Strong knowledge of Medicare Advantage guidelines
- Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and EHR systems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in Risk Adjustment Coding within a health plan
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Access, and Word
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently
