- Partner with HR personnel and internal subject matter experts to assist with the job analysis and evaluation process
- Job description review, rewrite, and updating class specifications including job duties research and working with staff to recommend and implement changes
- Digital document management system to include filing and/or scanning, additionally working within NeoGov to update class specifications.
- Assist with open job studies including completing compensation research, market surveys, and salary grade benchmarking
- Learn about the City’s personnel rules and regulations, HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR services to be able to respond to any internal staff inquiries.

- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or associate degree and
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, management, social sciences, workforce development and management, organizational management, or related field
- Availability to work a minimum of 12 hours per week not to exceed a maximum of 25 hours per week. Hours are flexible and will be scheduled Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

- Analytical and problem-solving skills for daily task completion are required.
- Strong attentional to detail is required.
- Completed junior year of undergraduate studies by June 2024, with an anticipated graduation by end of 2025.

DIVISION DESCRIPTION:
Human Resources Division The Human Resources Division enhances the employee experience through the management of the City's strategic personnel objectives and is devoted to providing long-term strategies for growth and development through effective policies and efficient procedures.
Areas of oversight include, but are not limited to, employee recruitment and retention, employee relations, benefits, compensation and classification, organizational and professional development, employment and labor law compliance, human resources information systems and change management.
In conjunction with other city departments, Human Resources develops, implements and/or oversees policies governing employee behavior and the behavior of the City toward its employees.
The City of Boca Raton is looking to employ an enthusiastic and driven Human Resources (HR) intern to assist our HR department with administrative and HR-related projects and tasks. The HR intern’s responsibilities include but are not limited to updating job descriptions, assisting with the development of new and revision of existing workflows, contributing to the development of various procedures and communications for internal clients, assist with implementing a digital document management system, providing support in the screening of candidates for employment, and work on special projects.
To be successful as an HR intern, you should keep abreast of the latest developments in employment practices, the labor market and legislation to determine how policies may be affected. Ultimately, an outstanding HR intern should be detail-oriented and able to demonstrate excellent administrative and organizational skills. Candidates selected for an internship will be expected to comply with all City and Department rules and regulations. In addition, candidates will be expected to assist with the following:
In this role you will gain experience and visibility to multiple areas of HR including Job Description Management, Workforce Organization, and Compensation Analysis and Planning. Skill sets utilized and further developed during the Internship include presentation skills, collaboration/networking, stakeholder management, and building insights into action.

Internships will have a prescribed beginning and end date but may be extended at the discretion of the Human Resources Director or designee. Program length will depend on the Division's budget, needs and staff levels.
Available Positions :
Customarily, the Division hosts one (1) Intern at any given time during the fiscal year.
